Lionesses move to round 3 as Liberia withdraws

Cameroon's Lionesses have moved up to the third round following the withdrawal of the Liberian Women’s National team from the qualifiers of the Olympic Games.

They would play the third round against the winner of the Ghana/Egypt match billed for July in one of these countries.

The two matches were initially billed for May 2 and 8 in Yaounde as the Liberian federation agreed to move the match forward to enable the Lionesses go to Europe early ahead of the World Cup.

But, while their flight plans was being processed, a letter of forfeiture was received by the federation from Liberia. The Lionesses will however, continue to train ahead of the World Cup.
