Cameroon wins Africa boxing championship

Cameroon has won African Boxing Championship taking 10 medals including 6 gold, 3 silver and a bronze at the end of the Championship for both female and male category in the zone.

In this event that took place from April 25 to 28 in Libreville, Cameroon retained the Africa boxing championship title in zone II.

Cameroon placed first followed by Gabon host of the competition which took the second place. Four Cameroonians snatched gold medals from Gabonese.

These metals were won by Christine Akoa Bengono (51kg), Christelle Aurore Ndjiang (60kg), Mike Fokoua Tchuem (60kg), Ismaël Mahaman (64kg), Ruwan Djikam (69kg), Ulrich Rodrigue Yombo (81 kg).

Simplice Fotsala (49kg), Narcisse Mevoah (52kg), Claude Kenfack (91kg) won silver medals while Wilfried Seyi Ntsengue(75kg) won bronze.

Cameroon despite securing the first place, dropped in terms of medals as the country won seven gold medals in 2014.
