Nigeria/Cameroon: Falcons Versus Cameroon Friendly Match Postponed

The friendly match between Nigeria women's team, the Super Falcons, and their Cameroonian counterparts has been moved to April 29. The match was earlier scheduled for April 15 in Abuja. The postponement came at the instance of the Cameroonians, who called for the friendly match.

The General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Musa Amadu, confirmed the postponement. "They (Cameroonians) sent a message to say they cannot honour the match on the initial date of 15th as earlier scheduled," Amadu disclosed. "They have asked for another date which is the 29th of April because they said their coaches are involved in FIFA course and will not be available for the said date."

The Falcons, last Thursday, axed seven players from their training camp in Abuja. The seven players dropped were Joy Anthony Ajah, Lilian Tule, Edith Eduviere, Elizebeth Zirike, Chinyere Igboamalu, Humble Nelson, and Abosede Torila The head coach, Edwin Okon, said many more of the players would have to be disqualified from the team."We have not asked seven of you to leave us because you are bad players. We are running against time now so the need to prone the team down to size able number and concentrate on those who are giving us what we want at the moment," Okon said.
