Tender launched for Cameroon railway lines

The Cameroonian government has called on international tenders to conduct feasibility studies of three construction projects of railway lines in the country.

These rail routes are Edea-Kribi, Douala-Limbe and Douala-Ngaoundere.

These new railway lines, which are part of the national rail plan designed by the government, are related to other major projects in progress in these areas of Cameroon.

The railway line between Edea and Kribi will serve the deepwater port of Kribi and will become the largest port infrastructure in the country since its commissioning.

The optimisation of the activity of the future deepwater port of Limbe project in the South West region depends more on the construction of the railway line between Limbe and Douala, the economic capital of the country.

The railway line project between Douala and Ngaoundere will link Cameroon's economic capital to the northern part of the country.
